- The Joyce Ivy Foundation Pre-College Scholarship Application
- An essay of no more than 500 words on one of the topics from the Common Application for college
- An essay of no more than 200 words describing what you expect to get out of your summer experience.
To be mailed separately to the Joyce Ivy Foundation at P.O. Box 2396, Ann Arbor, MI, 48106, or scanned and emailed to info@joyceivyfoundation.org:

attend and any other financial assistance sources to which you have applied
Please note: You must apply separately to the pre-college program of your choice. Deadlines for financial
aid vary by program. The Joyce Ivy Foundation cannot forward financial aid applications; you should send us
copies only. If you are applying to Brown University, please fill out ONLY their pre-college application and
the Joyce Ivy Foundation application. Do not apply to Brown University for financial aid.
- Copies of letters of recommendation sent in support of your Pre-College Program application(s)
- Official academic transcript(s) from your high school
- Copies of parent/guardian's tax returns for prior two (2) years (first two pages of 1040 only)
- Copies of PSAT, SAT and/or ACT test scores
If you have previously been named a Joyce Ivy Foundation scholar, you may not apply again.
The Joyce Ivy Foundation summer scholars program is open only to rising sophomore, junior, and senior female
high school students who live and go to school in Michigan, Ohio, and Nebraska at this time.
Joyce Ivy Foundation Scholarships support summer academic experiences at Barnard, Brown, Carleton,
Columbia, Cornell, Emory, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, MIT, University of Pennsylvania, Smith, and Yale. In the past,
Harvard and Brown have been particularly generous in awarding additional aid to JIF scholars. Please see [links] for
more information on these programs.
