Application Process

Interested students should complete the Pre-College Summer Scholarship application and submit it along with the following:

To be completed below, online:

  1. The Joyce Ivy Foundation Pre-College Scholarship Application
  2. An essay of no more than 500 words on one of the topics from the Common Application for college
  3. An essay of no more than 200 words describing what you expect to get out of your summer experience and how it aligns with your passions and long-term goals

To be mailed separately to the Joyce Ivy Foundation at P.O. Box 2396, Ann Arbor, MI, 48106:

  1. Copies of all financial aid application(s) submitted to the Pre-College Program(s) you hope to attend and any other financial assistance sources to which you have applied
    Please note: You must apply separately to the pre-college program of your choice.  Deadlines for financial aid vary by program.  The Joyce Ivy Foundation cannot forward financial aid applications; you should send us copies only.
  2. Copies of letters of recommendation sent in support of your Pre-College Program application(s)
  3. Official academic transcript(s) from your high school
  4. Copies of parent/guardian's tax returns for prior two (2) years (first two pages of 1040 only)
  5. Copies of PSAT, SAT and/or ACT test score
